Low Level Light Therapy in Santa Monica
A calm, comfortable treatment that uses gentle light to soothe the eyelids and support the glands that keep your tears healthy.

What is low level light therapy?
Low level light therapy, often called LLLT or photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of light delivered through a comfortable mask worn over the eyes. The light gently warms the eyelids and is designed to calm inflammation and support meibomian gland function.
Unlike IPL, LLLT does not use intense pulses. It is a relaxing treatment that many patients look forward to.
Who may benefit
LLLT may be recommended for patients with:
- Evaporative dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction
- Blepharitis and eyelid inflammation
- Recurring styes or chalazia
- Sensitive skin, or skin types that are not suited to IPL
The treatment
You simply relax with the mask in place for a short session. There is no downtime, and you can return to your day right away. LLLT is often combined with meibomian gland expression, Lash Zest or OptiLight for a more complete result.
