What is co-management?
Co-management means your surgeon and your optometrist share your care. The surgeon performs the procedure, while our doctors handle much of the evaluation beforehand and the follow-up visits afterward.
Our doctors are experienced in pre and post-operative care, including the surgical co-management of LASIK and cataracts.
Before surgery
A careful pre-operative evaluation helps determine whether you are a good candidate and which procedure may suit you best.

Preparing your ocular surface
A healthy tear film matters for accurate measurements and comfortable healing. If dry eye is present, we can treat it first through our dry eye center, and temporary punctal plugs are sometimes used to keep the eye moist after refractive surgery.

How do I know when cataract surgery is needed?
Cataract surgery is usually considered when clouding of the lens begins to interfere with daily activities such as driving or reading. We monitor cataracts and help you decide on timing.
Can I have my follow-up visits at Sunny Optometry?
Yes. With co-management, many post-operative visits can take place with our doctors, in coordination with your surgeon.
